RIP BRIAN WILSON

 sad day today. my favorite musician, Brian Wilson, passed away today. he left a big impact on me and i wish the best for his friends and family. he influenced so much including myself, and Paul McCartney. he will be missed!!

But now I’m back!! And planning out some stuff for the website. But first off, Jerry Jackalope - The Fishing Trip is finally out!!

I’m gonna try to put this and the Cinn & Ritchie special up on the website. 

I’m also working on fixing some of the issues with the toons page! For some reason, ruffle cannot play the flash videos on the site. So either something is up with GitHub, the embed code itself, or something else entirely. 

But whatever the case, I’ll try my best to update it! I’ll also try to add more features for the site!! Maybe a chat room, dark mode, who knows!!

MAJOR UPDATE: SmithToons Mobile!

 After the realization that some can't see the site in full on their phones, I come with a solution! SmithToons Mobile! Some of the features have been downsized for mobile viewers. Such as the toons page being downsized to one big playlist, the links page now only for contact info, etc. But most of the fun things on the site are here to stay! Like the shop and forums. Now SmithToons is available on all platforms!!

LIFE UPDATE N SHIZ 5

 Man it's been a hot minute hasn't it? Well lots of stuff has happened man. I've been at work with school, and hanging out with my friends!!

In other news, I've been picking up good, good, good, good vibrations!!! In reference to this new Jerry Jackalope cartoon in production! I'm working with some of the best animators and artists that I know to make this the best episode ever!!!

Tucson Comic Con 2024!!!

 So yesterday, I got to go to comic con!! It was so much fun! I saw so many new artists, and made really cool friends who were cosplaying! I got to play Sgt. Pepper for a musician, take a picture with the powerpuff girls, I even got an autograph from JOHN RATZENBERGER!!! YA! THE PIXAR GUY!! He was very nice but the autograph was $50 >:( It was kinda worth it ngl... Heres some photos of my time there! I'll upload more later cuz my dad has more

An Interview with Smuxzo!

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to interview one of my favorite online artists, Smuxzo! TL;DR, we spoke about art, music, the art community, etc. You can find her on TikTok and Instagram!

 Q: Where did you begin as an artist?

Smuxzo: I've drawn ever since I can remember! But I started taking it more serious in high school.

Q: Are you still amazed with the amount of attention you get online?

Smuxzo: Yes I'm very grateful. I've posted my art online for a long time and it seems like it all started gaining attention very fast in the past few years and feels like it all paid off.

 Q: Where do you think you will be in 10 years?

Smuxzo: I have no idea hopefully with a good paying job in the arts 😭 that's what I'm hoping for lol.

Q: What has been a key point in your life as an artist?

Smuxzo: Probably getting a lot of attention online and getting into a good school with well known good art program! both felt very fulfilling.

 Q: What lessons have you learned from making art and being a personality online?

Smuxzo: Post for yourself! artists that only post for likes won't truly be happy. making and posting art you want to make and putting it out there for others to see will also gain an audience that's closer to you and likes art you make besides (for example) if u only make fanart for one show , they will probably care more about the show than art that's made by you.

Q:  What is your best advice from people who want to be like you?

Smuxzo: Just be true to urself and make art for you. Don't let your audience or liked you get change what you want to make! and always have fun with art. if you've made art a specific way for years and it's not as fun anymore, don't be afraid to try new forms of art or a different technique.

Q:  What music do you like?

Smuxzo: All types really lol just not country I can't stand it

Q:  Do you watch any cartoons or anime?

Smuxzo: Not really anymore but I used to watch a lot of stuff from cartoon network like regular show, flapjack and my fav cartoon adventure time :)

Q: What are your inspirations?

Smuxzo: Honestly any media I see and like, ranging from adventure time to artists I follow here on instagram! anything really.

Q: How do you see the state of the art community today compared to a few years ago? (5 or 6 years ago)

Smuxzo: I think now because of the internet it's a lot more toxic in certain aspects :( Sad to see but at the same time, the art community can be more accepting of beginner artists since I see the same amount of people uplifting them.

Q: How do you feel about the random surge of content creators being called out?

Smuxzo: Shocked lol I've been mutuals with one recent artist and have had mutuals that were friends with others , just weird overall and sad to see.

Q: Have you ever tried doing something experimental with your art?

Smuxzo: All the time! always try new things w how I draw just cause it's fun and I've really liked how it's turned out before when I tried big things.

Q: What other career would you pursue if you didn’t do art?

Smuxzo: I've thought about being a teacher before but I haven't thought about anything else if be passionate in as of now.

 Soooo i finally moved in a few days ago. Though, there is still left to unpack. Yknow like more boxes, furniture, clothes, etc. I haven’t been able to really do much in the past few days. I’ve just been at home. But luckily today, I’m getting internet! So that’s exciting.
